AtHomeNet proud member of CAMP

By Susan Sanders

Last week I spent time in the Naples area meeting with other members of CAMP (Community Association Managers Program) - it is a group of industry professionals, Edison College calls us Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), who have joined together with Edison College to provide FREE, state approved for credit classes for Community Association Managers in Florida.  You can check out  http://www.EdisonContinuingEd.com for this year’s class schedule. We all recommitted for next year’s schedule and are excited to be part of a ground breaking event. There are no other colleges in the state of Florida offering community association industry specific  education to Community Association Managers.   They are planning on rolling this program out to other community colleges in Florida and also offering online certification training.

Each of the SME’s has created a class lasting between two and four hours. My class is all about community  web sites and how when used by a Community Association Manager they can be effective in reducing their workload at the same time as increasing communication to the owners.  My first class is September 20th -  I’ll let you know when registration opens so I’m not standing in front of room just talking to myself…after all, for once there really is such a thing as a free lunch, or at least a free continental breakfast along with some great education!
