Marketing your Association Management Company Online – Tip #5: Spread the Word

You’ve made it to the 5th and last tip in our series on Marketing your Association Management Company Online.  At this point you should have your website ready and listed on a bunch of other websites and you should be well on your way to creating helpful and informational articles and videos that your clients and prospects are interested in.  Now we are going to share that great content with the world.

We already discussed finding a home for your educational articles on your website.  Every time you post a new article on your website you should fire up the social media machine to help get the word out.  Post the title of the article and a link to it as a tweet on Twitter and also post it to your company Facebook page.  If you are active in any other social media feel free to share it on those as well.  If you take part in any topic appropriate online discussion groups or forums you might consider posting a quick recap of the topic with a link to the full article.  Some example groups include:

  • LinkedIn Groups
  • Yahoo! Groups
  • Google Groups

Make sure that your posts are truly educational and on-topic before you do this or you will quickly wear out your welcome on these groups.

What about your videos you say?  The best place to post those is on YouTube because it’s free, easy to use and a lot of people already use it like “Google for videos”.  First you should setup what YouTube calls a “Channel” for your company.  Once you have done that you can start adding videos to your channel.  As you add each video put a short recap of the subject of the video in the “Title” field and go into a bit more detail in the “Description” field.  Also make sure to end your description with the name, address and phone number of your management company so that you get that extra “push” for local search.  Just like with articles, each time you post a new video make sure you use all your social media account to promote the video to your audience by linking to it.  You can use the “Share” button in YouTube to get the link and also to get some code that allows you to embed the video into your website directly.  I’ll do another post detailing that in the future.
